Celebrity, money and possessions are too often the touchstones for teenagers, and yet these are not where wisdom wealth and happiness lie. Helping our students understand this, and learn what really contributes to a sense of personal contentment and wellbeing, lies behind BIBS's decision to teach the 'skills of well-being'.
We know that parents want their children to be happy at school above anything else, even exam results. Indeed, happy children do better at exams than stressed children, and develop into more successful adults. Bringing in lessons in positive psychology and wellbeing is a natural evolution of our philosophy of educating the whole child.
